This flamingo dancer, as opposed to a "Flamenco dancer", features a barre, red ballet slippers, and a sparkling tiara. I have to say, it is the ballet slippers that really crack me up!
Creating A Flamingo Ballet Dancer Photo
To create this funny flamingo ballet dancer image I started with several flamingo photos. I used separate flamingo pictures for the head and neck, body, and legs. However, I did not have any images with a flamingo's wing showing. I turned to my archives where I found some suitable wings from an Egyptian Vulture that I photographed in flight on the island of Socotra off the coast of Yemen. With Photoshop I was able to isolate the wings and color them to match the flamingo coloration. I used a dance studio image I captured in Buenos Aires on a stock shoot, and some ballet slippers photographed during that same shoot. Creating the image in Photoshop took just under a day...but also needed an additional half day of time looking through my archives for just the right parts.
