Actually a field of mud, this drained rice paddy photographed in Burma, passes for dry cracked earth. The hands holding the seedling were photographed in my studio and composited into the race paddy image using Photoshop. I wanted to create a conceptual image speaking of hope, growth, progress and other social issues.
