Combine the King of Beasts with a classic mature woman knitting or doing needle point on the couch, and you have a strong, versatile and compelling image for advertising and promoting products, services and companies that offer different avenues of safety and security for seniors.

Creating Stock Photos For Senior Issues

It can be challenging to come up with new ideas for visuals that illustrate "Senior" issues. The idea for this image that combines the strength, power, and vigilance of a lion with the vulnerability of a Senior woman, seen here knitting on her sofa with the big cat keeping watch at her feet, came to me while shooting the senior woman for another stock shoot. I had her sit on an apple box and knit while I photographed her. I used Photoshop to place her on a couch that I had photographed as part of a stock shoot in Buenos Aires. Then I stripped in the Lion which I had photographed years earlier in my San Francisco studio. The mature woman who is relaxed and confident, as she calmly sits and knits, is a perfect juxtaposition for a fierce and alert looking lion who is staring intensely into the camera. What we end up with is a unique and compelling picture of a senior who is well protected and looked after. I mean, who is going to mess with that lion?!!!
