Elephant Trumpeting

In this photo a solitary elephant raises it's trunk and head and bellows out a call to the other members of its herd. The elephant stands before a vast, empty plain at dawn as the early morning sun lights up the landscape and the clouds in the sky above. This is an elephant version of a call to action! This elephant stock photo has a strong emotional appeal. The elephant appears to be calling for help. Is it a call for better conservation? Is this a plea for help in saving elephants in the wild?

Elephant alone

This elephant stands alone as he or she trumpets out a call. There is something about this image that tugs at the heartstrings. Is this elephant missing its friends? Is it lost and alone? Is this elephant in trouble? We can only speculate. This picture does make me ask, "What is it about elephants that endears them to us so?"

Creating Elephant Stock Photos Using Photoshop

To create this elephant stock photo I made liberal use of Photoshop. The background image and sky is from the Black Rock desert in Nevada. The foreground is from a shot I took in Mongolia. The elephant I photographed in Thailand, and in this case the elephant's head and trunk are one photo, and it's body is another photo. I composited all of the elements together in Photoshop.
