In this image of a tropical beach, a sailing vessel of a bygone era, and calm tropical waters, an iconic image emerges for illustrating vacation travel, journeys both inwards and out, and the call of adventure that exists deep in all of our hearts. Alas, the reality is that this image was created using Photoshop to combine images of the ship, of the summer sky (photographed in Mexico), and the beach photographed in Hawaii. The ship was actually photographed in Spain. This is truly an international travel image! The compositing work was done in my photo studio in Sausalito, California, just north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. No question that this is a nautical picture!
